Who I am?
This is always the hardest part to write…
I've always been drawn to Mother Nature and how the human body works. I call myself a traveler: I have lived, studied and worked in 4 different countries (my dad calls me “my gypsy daughter”). I love the feel of discovering new places and people in such a big world and learning from them.
I received artistic and scientific education because only one of the two was not enough for me. But, in fact, the more you grow and the more you understand that it is a whole, the body does not function independently of our mind, heart, and the environment that surrounds it. I have two degrees in Biology, with an emphasis in Ecobiology, which is the study of creatures and the interaction they have with their environment. Plus, I'm a Certified Nutrition Coach.
Story Time
My history with Nutrition
My earliest nutrition-related memory? In elementary school, when the teacher explained to the class how we digest french fries, and I was amazed by the complexity of the human body.
As a child, I always helped my grandmother prepare traditional sweets and cakes, and I often went out to eat at the restaurant with my parents. Later on, when I was attending high school, I came home late often tired and angry (ah, adolescence!) and I hid in the kitchen, kneading to vent and recharge my energies at the same time.
I had been a vegetarian for almost 8 years and that period allowed me to discover many new ingredients. I bought alternative cookbooks and experimented with recipes to make them appetizing for my family too. I thought: “if I can buy this thing, I can also make it at home, right? And maybe in a healthier version”.
When I moved abroad for the umpteenth time almost 4 years ago, together with the culture shock I suffered a shock… to my stomach! I completely changed my diet and pre-existing problems worsened (such as irritable bowel syndrome), so I began to study how to treat myself with natural ingredients and techniques. After many months of research and experimentation, I did it! I finally no longer had the anxiety about eating certain foods and the problem never came back. I had finally realized the decisive role that diet has in our lives.
In recent years, I have also started working out and going to the gym. It goes without saying that training and nutrition go hand in hand. Like so many of us, I was not satisfied with my appearance and I was tired of eating practically nothing but not being able to lose the extra pounds. I was thirsty for knowledge and immersed myself even more in the study. I decided to specialize again and obtained the Nutrition Coach certificate.
According to my friends, I have always been a good listener and giver of advice. Then, one day put two and two together. Why not combine my passions and skills in a single profession?
To this day, I help people like me discover a new way of eating that makes you feel good physically and mentally and doesn't accept any kind of fear around food.
